The Dog-Eared Digest is a printed paper, and we run it the old-fashioned way: we collect only what we need to mail you the paper and stay in touch, we guard it, and we don’t sell it. Here’s the plain-language version of what that means.

What we collect

When you subscribe, we collect your name, mailing address, email address, and payment information (your card is handled by Stripe, our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number). If you share a story through That’s My Dog!, we collect what you give us there: your name, contact details, your dog’s name and photo, and your story. If you sign up for texts or updates, we collect your phone number or email.

What we use it for

Mailing you the paper. Sending receipts and service messages about your subscription. Replying when you write to us. Sending updates by email or text, but only if you asked for them. Considering your dog’s story for print, if you submitted one. That’s the whole list.

What we share

We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their marketing. The only people who touch it are the services that help us run the paper: Stripe processes payments, our email and text providers deliver the messages you signed up for, and the postal service gets your address the way any mail does. Your mobile phone number and text opt-in information are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Your choices

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text and the texts stop. To update your mailing address, write to hello@thedogeareddigest.com. To cancel your subscription, email billing@thedogeareddigest.com and we’ll take care of it. If you’d like us to correct or delete what we have on file for you, just ask.

Stories and photos

If you submit a story to That’s My Dog!, the permission you grant is spelled out right on the form. We keep submissions on file so we have a record of that permission.
